My Professional Philosophy
Many qualities and skills go into being an excellent real estate professional - integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills as well as having a high-quality professional reputation and network. All these benefit my clients, some on every transaction, some on rare and unusual circumstances. One of the oddities of my profession is that the better I do my job, the easier it looks to my clients. Now the reverse is the agent that makes the transaction harder by lack of skill or experience. that situation is sometimes construed as the agent working harder. They may be working harder but if that created an inconvienence or imposition on the client, it is not great service.
That said, in my experience as a Texas real estate professional I have also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means establishing effective communication, being a good listener and then making a plan and implementing it based on what I heard. This allows me to quickly respond to your needs. I will ask a lot of questions upfront because I have found that it makes the backend smooth.
"Client first" is the only way to do business. I spent 10 years in retail where the axiom was 'the customer was always right.' That attitude and the retail work ethic lives on in my real estate business. It requires me to continually improve my skills and ways of doing business.
